Specially developed sewage sludge centrifuges for the particular requirements of sewage treatment plants: The most important goal in dewatering is to maximize the reduction of the volume of sewage sludge.

The reason for this is that every tenth of a percent increase in dry solids in the sludge reduces the costs of sludge disposal. The dewatering decanters of the C-series and X-series reduce operating costs and energy consumption and achieve a higher dry solids content.

During thickening, a high degree of separation and a low polymer consumption are extremely important. Both relieve the burden on subsequent process and improve the overall performance of the waste water treatment plant.

THE FLOTTWEG C-SERIES WASTEWATER DECANTER

How does a Flottweg C-series Decanter work? The concept corresponds to the fundamental function of a decanter centrifuge. The Flottweg C-series accelerates the supplied separation medium particularly effectively, thus saving energy. The solids are thrown onto the inner wall of the bowl by acceleration and discharged via the decanter scroll to the conical bowl end. In contrast to other decanter centrifuges, the C-series decanter have a double cone and a baffle plate.

THE FLOTTWEG X SERIES DECANTER CENTRIFUGES

Flottweg has developed a unique centrifuge concept specifically for high-degree dewatering of sewage sludge: the Flottweg X Series. Sewage sludge dewatering offers enormous potential savings for the operators of sewage treatment plants. The costs of transport and disposal of the dewatered sewage sludge frequently make up 80% of operating costs. Depending on the capacity of the plant, 1% more dry substance in the dewatered sewage sludge can represent cost savings in the five- to six-digit range.

MOBILE DEWATERING PLANTS

In small sewage treatment plants, the investment costs for dewatering and thickening of incoming sludge frequently plays a decisive role. In stationary dewatering systems, for example, the construction of a new building or the expansion of existing space can be significantly costly. You can avoid those costs with mobile container systems for sludge dewatering. Container-based solutions are therefore a practical alternative to fixed dewatering installations or thickening systems.
