In lithium-ion battery recycling, the company supplies industrially proven plants achieving recovery rates of black mass of more than 98%, with capacities of up to 4 tons per hour and modular expansion options. As part of this business field, URT has built Europe’s largest lithium-ion battery recycling plant.

Refrigerator Recycling Plants – VFC & VHC Recovery

URT provides industrial recycling plants for end-of-life refrigerators with a strong focus on operational efficiency, process stability and regulatory compliance.

Our modular concepts enable either combined VFC/VHC treatment or dedicated VHC-only lines. Automated gas identification ensures precise routing, significantly reducing energy demand and inert gas consumption. VHC lines operate with minimal or no liquid nitrogen, lowering OPEX and simplifying plant operation.

PCB Recycling Plants – High-Precision Metal Recovery

URT designs and delivers industrial plants for the mechanical processing of printed circuit boards (PCBs), enabling high recovery rates and stable plant performance.

Our modular lines achieve >95% copper recovery and >90% recovery of precious metals, with metal purities exceeding 98%. Throughputs of up to 4 t/h ensure industrial scalability.

Our inert shredding and vacuum drying process operates under nitrogen atmosphere, ensuring safe handling of complex cell chemistries and volatile compounds. The system achieves >98% recovery of dry black mass with high material purity and stable process performance.

URT develops, engineers, sells and services recycling plants for electric and electronic scrap (WEEE), including small domestic appliances, big domestic appliances and IT hardware. The equipment is designed in accordance with the European WEEE directive and enables compliant treatment of end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment.

WEEE includes household appliances and IT waste which are shredded and separated into raw material fractions using technically sophisticated processes developed by URT.
